I suspect J2EE rules do not allow multiple login-config elements to be specified in web.xml, but I am optimistic that multiple login configs can be defined via other means.
I have not read up on any of the additional security modules like WS-Security or Web Services Security API (WSS API), I am not looking to encrypt the data and I'm hoping I can avoid either of these additional APIs.
