Yes. I understand.
I did not set MANDATORY on the MDB. The MDB was simply set to TransactionManagerType.CONTAINER at the class level.
I set TransactionAttributeType.MANDATORY only on the SLSB where it is permitted by spec. I've actually tried both REQUIRED and MANDATORY here but the results are the same.
The problem has not been resolved.
