It might be good to include a bit more information about your situation and environment for us.
What OS are you working on?
What version of Java are you using to run the IDE?
What version of Java are you using to run the server?
How did you start the server in 'profile mode'...
did you choose 'Start in Profile Mode' from the right click menu of the server node? If you did use this method... did you 'attach' the profiler?
did you choose 'Profile' from the right click menu of an app that has been targeted to deploy onto v2?
I did a quick search in the GF issue tracker and found an issue that may be related...

You may want to examine that issue and see if it describes your current situation... if it doesn't, you may want to provide addition info in that issue or open a new issue.
