No, it wouldn't really make sense in the cluster since the idea there is for the exact same application to be deployed homogenously.
With stand-alone instances why not just configure the physical mapping using sun-ejb-jar.xml?
The application code and ejb-jar.xml can be the same. All you'll need to do is have a
different sun-ejb-jar.xml for each deployment.
