I am having the same problem too. MySQL server and driver both at version 5.0, and data is being committed to the DB without being in a transaction, no matter what parameters I set on the connection pool.
How did you end up solving the problem? Did you have to use a workaround of some kind?
Any pointers will be much appreciated.
