When port 8080 is used immediately after rebooting into XP than a service using this port has been started automatically. Since it is a Java-based service my guess is that it is Tomcat. You could manually stop Tomcat (or whichever service actually uses this port) in the Services-panel. To view the Services-panel run "services.msc".
If disabling this service is no option you should check the GLASSFISH_HOME\domains\domain1\domain.xml-file and change the port 8080 to any other port of your liking.
