If you run NetBeans, can you run XML Check and XML Validation on both
sun-web.xml and web.xml and then post the output of those 2?

It seems you should be able to use your login page, but better would be to employ that provided within the browser. See

(if you are using netbeans obviously).

I had a go at that as it seemed the answer to all my prayers. Unfortunately I came to grief with a deployment error. See my post:-
