I'm better not going to tell you how much time I wasted on this simple thing. I have added the "name" to the @MessageDriven annotation now and it is working. :) In the ejb-jar.xml it was saying "Xyz" and the bean class was called "XyzBean".
Unfortunately all the examples in the books had the Bean name and the DD set to the same so it's not so easy to figure this out. ;)
