Is the final answer:
It is not possible with Glassfish V2 to have secure.domaing.org and www.domain.org map only to one virtual server.
"When I tried setting a "default-virtual-server" to the empty string, the domain would not start: the code currently expects a non-empty string. This is a bug that needs to be fixed."
To me it does not sound like a bug when it is documented that it is a required value.
As a side note, what is purpose of the Hosts entry on the virtual server?
Is this a true statement
The server takes a DNS entry like secure.domain.org and translates it to IP address, making secure.domaing.org and www.domain.org be the same since they both map to the same IP address.
