Good question!
I am sad to report that we couldn't become compatible with SunONE 7 when it comes to referencing the resources this way. Apologies.
It may be possible to map the resources differently in sun-web.xml/sun-ejb-jar.xml while your code looks up the same JNDI-name from two different versions of the application.
