Hello Alan,
At the route of this issue is a JDK bug that has yet to be fixed but there is a simple workaround. Your shortcut references the remote system directly ( \\Server\path ) but if you were to map the remote folder as a drive in Windows and have the shortcut reference that drive the problem would go away.
