Does ToplinkEssentials support stored procedures?

I know that JPA specification does not support it, but I found some indication that Toplink supports it. So what about ToplinkEssentials (what's the difference)?

If yes, is there an example, documentation, tutorial, ...?

If not, does anyone know if it is planed for JPA 2 / future versions of ToplinkEssentials.
