Well actually till Java-1.1.6 (Sun's implementation) java was fully interpreted, and even today most methods are still interpreted, except very hot ones.

Uhoha ... well .... you read the tutorial. Maybe I don't get it took me several years to get the knowledge I have now, and I consider it far from "complete".
