The listed bug indicates that no error occurs when "ABC" is used for an discriminator with a type declared as INTEGER and a column which is VARCHAR.

Yes, my problem is similar, but my declarations are correct (INTEGER discriminator type, integer-convertible value and integer column) and the insert fails as described.

Also, to my knowledge, I am not using automatic schema generation.
