Struts 1.3.5.  The GlassFish version is whatever is used inside of SJSAS 9PE UR1.

I looked at the issues you pointed me to and also found my way to your excellent blog entry -> http://blogs.sun.com/quinn/entry/addressing_locked_jar_problems.

Can you post a link to the latest stable version of GF that includes these patches?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi, Mark.

What build of GlassFish are you using and what release of Struts?

Please read this GlassFish forum entry which discusses this problem, as well as this GlassFish issue.

The good news is that beginning with GlassFish V2 build 22 you should see much better results with situations like this.

Let us know if this does not seem to help.

I have an EAR that contains the Struts JARs.  When I modify the app and try to redeploy, it always fails because of file locks on the Struts JARs.  To redeploy, I have to shut down GlassFish, manually delete the app from the domain, restart, and redeploy.

Has anyone else run into a similar problem with Struts or anything else?  What is the solution?  Its painful to try to develop for GlassFish if you have to keep shutting down the server in order to redeploy.

Thanks,

Mark
