Thank You, Snjezana and Tom I have tested this under Windows Vista Business and Windows 7 Beta. Now, I found the Correct Reason for this error: As per Snjezana:"some of old package database files are still there at the time of second installation" - Which is JAVA DB and JSF 1.2_12 implementation - Available Update I have Installed. I did not get any error, when I have followed the steps: step-1). Install Glassfish step-2). Don't Install this Available Update from update center (Java DB and JSF 1.2_12 implementation) step-3). Stop Application Server, If you have started. step-4). Uninstall Glassfish (But, root directory have still some files - don't worry about it.) step-5). Install Glassfish Step-6). Open Update Center Step-7). No more error....Now, U can see two Uvailable Update in there: (Java DB and JSF 1.2_12 implementation) I goet error, when I have followed the steps: step-1). Install Glassfish step-2). Install Available Update (Java DB and JSF 1.2_12 implementation) step-3). Stop Application Server, If you have started. step-4). Uninstall Glassfish (But, root directory have still some files of [Java DB and JSF 1.2_12 implementation]) step-5). Install Glassfish Step-6). Open Update Center Step-7). Error is waiting for you.... Rahul, did you completely clean up existing installation directory between the two installations? Based on the separate comment on this issue from Tom Mueller, it seems that this would happen if some of old package database files are still there at the time of second installation. Now, this could easily happen due to a known issue in uninstaller where it does not explicitly clean up all of package database files and it unisntalls only those which were part of the original install image.
