What is the progress status of

I filled this RFE a few months back after having tried Apache
Geronimo. In Geronimo, adding a JDBC driver is a breeze as the admin
console is able to automatically download and install the opensource
ones, and point the user to the right URLs when a proprietary one is
needed.
I guess this feature would fit in GFv3 through an interaction with the
update center.
