Depends on NetBeans version.

Since you're working on GlassFish, I know you need the Maven support.
Pre-NB6.5, the maven support was a nightmare (for me at least) -- thread
deadlocks between Maven updates and the NB source analyzer, Maven
network access on AWT thread, all kinds of evilness. I filed many
issues on 6.0 and 6.1.

In NB 6.5, Maven is a first class citizen (no longer an extra plugin
download) and while I haven't used it extensively, it seems better. I
think 6.5 fixes all the issue reports I've filed so far.
