I had also had some problems logging in to the :pserver:<myusername>@
cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs using CVS CLI in MS Windows with the '-d' flag. But on
GNU/Linux box CVS CLI works fine as well as TortoiseCVS on MS Windows box.
Read the mentioned howto, everything should work just fine.
