Step 3: Renaming an EJB and its Classes

Renaming an EJB can be an involved process because all of the EJB classes will have to be renamed/refactored. JDeveloper provides a useful tool that renames an EJB and all its classes.

To rename an EJB and all its classes:

  1. In the Navigator, right click on the Departments entity bean and choose Rename EJB and EJB Classes.
    The Rename EJB and Classes dialog opens.
  2. In the dialog, change the EJB Name to Dept.
  3. Click OK.
  4. A message box will tell you that you cannot undo this operation. Click Yes to continue.
  5. If you get a message box about setting the Update Imports property, click Yes.
  6. Click OK to close the message box that tells you the operation is complete.
    Close the message box.
