Checking In a File to ClearCase

When you have finished working on a file, you should check it into ClearCase.

To check in files shown in the Application Navigator:

  1. Select the files in the Application Navigator, and choose Version ingthen choose Check In. The Check In to ClearCase dialog is displayed listing the files that you selected.
  2. If you want to check in the files even though they are identical to the previous versions in ClearCase, check the Force Check In Where Files Are Identical box. If you do not check this box, the file may remain checked out, depending on how ClearCase handles files of that type. If the file remains checked out, you can use the Undo Checkout command to return the file to its previous checked in state.
  3. Type comments for this checkin into the Comments box or, to use the same comments for the check in that were used for the checkout, check the Use Checkout Comments box.
  4. To check in the listed files, click OK. The files in the list are checked in to ClearCase source control.

To check in files shown in the Checked Out Files window:

  1. Select the files in the Checked Out Files window that you want to check in. To obtain more information about the Checked Out Files window, press F1.
  2. In the button bar of the viewer, click the Check In button.
