Confirming the Need for Identity Plug-in

Before Timothy starts designing the Identity plug-in, he discusses with his manager Philip, if he really needs to develop a new Identity plug-in or use the existing plug-ins such as Active Directory or Oracle Internet Directory, to implement security with the new data source that he is creating for Andrew. Philip clearly explains Timothy when to use the existing plug-ins and when to create new plug-ins, considering different scenarios.

Scenario 1: If all the data that you are indexing should be publicly available, then you don't need an Identity plug-in at all.

Scenario 2: If the users log in via an already supported identity system in order to use the datasource, then a new identity plug-in is not required.
