Defining an External Web Source

By default, Oracle Secure Enterprise Search is configured to crawl web sites in the intranet. In other words, crawling internal web sites requires no additional configuration. However, many organizations use a "proxy server" to connect to the internet (also referred to as external web sites), so to crawl these sites Oracle Secure Enterprise Search needs the HTTP proxy server information.

Jodie needs to define the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as a source. Because it is an external web site, she needs to configure the HTTP proxy settings in Oracle Secure Enterprise Search.
