Backup and Restore
the Metadata
Jodie decides to use the backup option in the search administration tool to backup the metadata to disk. She then takes the backup offline and stores it on tape for extended archival.
A few days later, the hard disk in the Oracle Secure Enterprise Search server crashes!
Fortunately, Jodie has a backup of the Oracle Secure Enterprise Search metadata on tape. She is able to restore the metadata onto another machine quickly and put Oracle Secure Enterprise Search back into service.
