Customizing the Predefined ORDM Models for MeddWebb
Tom and the MeddWebb IT staff agree that, to represent different types of possible prescribers in a drug-retail kind of environment, they need to introduce an altogether different lookup as part of the ORDM model. A prescriber might be: a local physician, dentist, medical student, and so on; not an employee of MeddWebb.
They conclude that Tom will create a new lookup named PRESCRIBER TYPE with attribute list (Code, Description), creating valid values and making use of this lookup in relevant tables. This lookup is of a generic type, and therefore can be handled by defining a new lookup-specific view based on existing tables, rather than defining a new Lookup table.
