I don't have the full spec first draft ready yet (should by end of week), but have been sending out the spec content. There are 3 JIRA items that will be in JTA 1.2
JTA_SPEC-5 support for container-managed transactions independent of (decoupled from) EJB
JTA_SPEC-7 TransactionScoped annotation for CDI bean scope/lifecycle
JTA_SPEC-3 Define timing of delist/end in relation to beforeCompletion
There are ongoing discussions about these on this list that you can see in the archives (and I'll be commenting on hopefully today as well).
