Issue a "cvs up" first. With TortoiseCVS, right click the www directory
and select "CVS Update".

        I tried to commit the change and got the following on my
console:

        cvs commit -m "added googfle calendar" -- index.html (in
directory C:\cvs projects\jsft\jsftemplating\www\)
        cvs commit: Up-to-date check failed for `index.html'
        cvs [commit aborted]: correct above errors first!

        ***** CVS exited normally with code 1 *****

        Hopefully somebody can tell me what this means. It doesn't make
sense to me.

                Hi Mike, I think it looks good. We can always make more
changes later.

                It's been a while since I used wincvs (or windows for
that matter!), but I think if you go into wincvs (I think that has a
fish icon right?) you can select the file (index.html). After you
select the file, I think you can either right-click, or goto the file?
menu and choose "commit". It should ask you for any comments you have,
which is where you can write in what you did (i.e. Added google
calendar). After that it should commit the file. As soon as you do
that, you can visit https://jsftemplating.dev.java.net and see if your
change has taken effect.

                Thanks for doing this!

                        OK, here's a copy of the web page with the
calendar added. If this meets with everybody's approval all I need to
know is how to upload it back to cvs on the project site. I'm using
WinCVS, but am not familiar with how to make changes in cvs. I might be
able to muddle through, but it would probably be safer if I got a little
guidance as to standard procedures for making cvs changes on this
project.

                                Hi Mike,

                                Thanks for looking into this. You can
use cvs to checkout the files (you've already done this), then look for
all the web site files in the "www" directory.

                                Thanks!

                                 Ken, I can do that when I get back in
town on the 1st. I can't really hook up my laptop to the Internet where
I am. I'm just emailing and websurfing on a borrowed computer. What do I
use to download and change the webpages (SSH, FTP, CVS)?

                                I've created a google calendar and sent
you an invitation. I've also given you access to change it how ever you
want. It is called JSFT. Check it out and tell me what you think. I
don't know exactly who to add or what access they should have. Let me
know wgat you think.

                        Templating for JavaServer(tm) Faces Technology

                        What is it?

                        Templating for JavaServer(tm) Faces Technology
works with JavaServer(tm) Faces to make building pages and components
easier.

                        JSFTemplating Overview Slides! Open Document
Format <http://presentations/JSFTemplating.odp> | PDF
<http://presentations/JSFTemplating.pdf>

                        How do I use it?

                        1. Obtain the files <http://download.html>
.
                        2. Start creating pages (follow the Page
Tutorial <http://tutorials/page.html> ).

                        What's required?

<https://glassfish.dev.java.net/public/downloadsindex.html>

<http://java.sun.com/javaee/downloads/index.jsp>

                        * A Java EE Application Server. GlassFish
<https://glassfish.dev.java.net> is recommended (provides JSF 1.2
environment out-of-the-box). The Java EE 5 SDK
<http://java.sun.com/javaee/downloads/index.jsp> uses GlassFish and is
production quality, free (for development AND deployment), tested and
stable. Tomcat or other servers work without much extra effort.
                        * JavaServer(tm) Faces
<http://java.sun.com/javaee/javaserverfaces/> 1.1 or better.
JavaServer(tm) Faces 1.2 is highly recommended. If you have GlassFish
<https://glassfish.dev.java.net> (or the Java EE 5 SDK), you already
have JavaServer(tm) Faces 1.2 installed.

                        How do I get involved?

                        * Join the #JSFTemplating IRC channel at
irc.freenode.net. <http://irc.html> This is great resource if you have
a quick question, or just want to know how to get started. It is also
the best place to find the JSFTemplating developers and to get involved
in helping JSFTemplating.

                        * Join the mailing lists
<http://servlets/ProjectMailingListList> (you must be logged in and
have Observer Role <http://servlets/ProjectMembershipRequest> to join).
Who should join? Anyone that uses or is considering using this project.
                        * Submit Issues
<http://servlets/ProjectIssues> . Found a bug? Want a feature? Let us
know! I think you will find the development team to be very responsive.
                        * Become a developer
<http://developer.html> . Submit content, participate in email, and
become part of the development team. We are currently in need of doc
writers, web site developers, Java / JavaScript developers, and Testers!

                                Developer meetings are held every 2nd
Tuesday at 12:00 PDT (GMT-7). Below is the dialin information:

                                * (866)545-5227 (US Toll-Free)
                                * (865)673-6950
(International-Caller Paid)
