Yes, I am using JSF 1.2 and my web.xml has the entries you identified.
Why I think that DynaFaces is incompatible with jsf-portlet.jar is that
the both try to define a life-cycle factory.
It seems that one is winning (in my case the one in jsf-portlet.jar) and
that one does not recognize the com.sun.faces.lifecycle.PARTIAL value
necessary for DynaFaces.
