[jms-spec users] Re: Update (Was Re: Minutes of JMS 2.1 Meeting 3 on 19 Nov 2014)

Leonard and everyone,

(Sorry for the long delay in replying, Leonard)

As I mentioned in December, I can't spend time leading JMS 2.1 at this moment because I have been assigned to do some
other work (an urgent WebLogic JMS thing). This is certainly frustrating: we were just beginning to make really good
progress on JMS 2.1, particularly on MDB improvements, and I am very conscious that this is also frustrating and
annoying for those who were collaborating with me on this (particularly those who had started attending the conference
calls).

I'm hoping that we can restart work on JMS 2.1 soon, but I can't give a date just yet. I'll let you know just as soon as
I know more.

The schedule for JMS 2.1 (or Java EE 8) hasn't changed, though clearly the current hiatus will make that a challenge. My
intention is that when things restart we'll review priorities to keep it to a reasonable schedule. MDB improvements will
remain the top feature.

Please keep in mind that any plans, schedules or intentions stated by me or any other Oracle employee are always subject
to the standard Oracle disclaimer here: https://java.net/projects/jms-spec/pages/SafeHarborStatement (anyone who has
attended Oracle presentations anywhere will be familiar with this statement).

I'll give another update just as soon as I know more.

Nigel
