Yes tis will effectively override the dependency version configured in
the plugin itself.
BUT
Please pay attention that there is a bug in Maven which makes it
impossible to change plugin dependencies after e plugi was once
initialized. See my previous mails on topic, I've posted the link to the
Maven JIRA.
