I Agree.
I wouldn't want me to be talking to Sanchez about mirroring withitout
having resolved all the technical problems of our repository.
The only motive i see for pursuing the mirroring is to have the
artifacts served from an 'http'. Sometimes the 'https' (currently
used to serve artifacts by m2_at_java.net) is inaccesible by users behind
proxies, etc.
