There are a couple of known cases where this happened in JAXB 1.0.1(JWSDP1.2).
One of them seemed to be related to the use of substitution groups[1] and the
other has to do with the <jxb:implClass> customization. The latter case was
fixed internally before we shipped 1.0.1, so I don't expect that's what you're
seeing.

If it isn't related to [1], then file a bug on the BugParade like Kohsuke suggested.
