I just scanned the proposal. It's very nice, and listed goals are
definitely needed in order for first class XML support to become a
reality.
Do you already have a feeling of what new design might look like?
- Is it going to be like .NET, where developer can annotate his code
with attributes that provide proper XML serialization?
- Is generation of implementation/wrappers going to be a deployment-time
task, like in JAX-RPC?
- Will schema types generate concrete classes (JAX-RPC) or interfaces
(JAXB 1.0)?

JAXB 2.0 JSR ( Java Specification Request) - JSR 222 - filed just
before
JavaOne conference last week, will be addressing the tigther integration
