Hi,
To kickstart alternative transports in JAX-WS Alexey and I decided it
would be best to do a prototype to better understand and improve the
client/server transport-based API and the modularity of implementations.
So Alexey will develop a JMS client and server side prototype transport
using the rearch branch.
JMS seems appropriate at this time since:
- it provides all the plumbing and we think that the server side
infrastructure can be used to host the JAX-WS runtime; i.e. we can
get up to speed relatively quickly.
- there has been demand in the past for a JMS transport, so the
prototype code may be useful going forward; and
- help understand better asynchronous transports.
Paul.
