Hi Ramesh,

Thanks for the response. I would *love* to use JAX-WS 2.0 for our web services, but at this point it's impossible due to https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=7

Therefore, in the meantime we will have to stick with JWSDP 1.6 and JAXB 2.0.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan:

JAX-RPC ( Main webservices technology in JWSDP 1.6) won't depend JAXB. So you shouldn't see any difference when you swap JAXB 1.x with JAXB 2.0. But as "JAXR" ( Java API for XML Registries ) implementation in JWSDP 1.6 depends on JAXB 1.x, if you use JAXR functionality then you will face problems.

FYI, the latest web services technology ( JAX-WS ) depends on JAXB 2.0 for its databinding functionality and it generates portable artifacts. We would encourage you to consider migrating your webservices to JAX-WS and use GlassFish ( https://glassfish.dev.java.net ) as the container. Netbeans 5.x ( http://www.netbeans.org/ ) IDE has good support for JAX-WS.

 Regards
-Ramesh
