I can see that doing an MR is time consuming, but things like the mentioned
API should really (IMO) be present in JSF 1.2 as well.
With one of the 1.2 features (invokeOnComponent) you can do nice things...
but somewhat that breaks other features, when using those callbacks for
an optimized lifecycle.
