Hi Josh / Kito,
Please be aware that backward compatibility would prevent us from change 
the default return type of the DateTimeConverter.
Josh, could look into prototyping the conversion of a LocalDateTime 
keyed of the "type" attribute with value "localDateTime"
for the DateTimeConverter?
