I recently read through the JCache spec and, if I understood
correctly, most of it what’s needed for Java EE integration seems like
it’s indeed of relatively low effort. The biggest issue I saw was the
configuration of caches as the current JCache spec only defines a
programmatic configuration, any configurations files are
implementation specific. As a cache user, I would be fine keeping it
this way, as long as there is some way for me to provide the
programmatic configuration for both the default and named caches(for
example, through a CDI producer).
