[javaee-spec users] [jsr342-experts] Fwd: [JSR-354] Ballot JSR 354 Scope

Dear Experts,

As mentioned earlier if you are interested and have a preference, please
participate in the vote for JSR 354 Scope and preferred Delivery options.

The *platform *only option would affect Java EE most in the sense, that in
that case EE and solutions based on it may not have access to the Money API
until Java EE 9 (not 8) is released, which looks unlikely before the
~2017-2019 timeframe based on current experience and progress.
Of course, for ME Embedded which is just starting its assembly now, while
the SE 8 "bag" is closed, this may be much faster.

The *profile *and all other options would allow Java EE to use such JSR
potentially even when EE 7 hits the market (in that case, a standalone
version of the JSR developed first would apply) or at least with EE 8, in
that case inclusion in certain profiles could be an option. Note, if
Multi-tenancy and the Cloud are going to play a vital role in EE 8, having
a widely accepted tool for billing cloud services may also be handy[?]

As with most EE relevant JSRs, even the profile option is likely to require
a standalone JSR, but if a profile is ready in time, again that may be ME
Embedded before any part of the EE Umbrella, both could go hand in hand,
while choice for just standalone would mean, the focus is on that and
profiles are possible, too but not highest priority.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Expert Group Members and other Followers
we had recently some discussions in Expert Group about what a reasonable
scope for JSR 354 could be. On our conference call we decided to make a
small ballot this topic.
So I tried to summarize the variants here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/15GjHOjzB3S2aT6uRTBop-e_SHI_eMfsDogeMUQxHj2A/pub
The doodle Ballot then can be found here:

You are welcome to add your opinion asap, but ultimatively until end of
next week (15th February 2013).
Thanks!
