The renewal ballot goes away if we get and EDR out before end of the month.  Will has been off for a few days but last I spoke with him that was the goal – preclude the need for a renewal ballot on JSR 375 by issuing an EDR before Nov 29th.

Will/all,

Based on the epics Alex listed here https://java.net/projects/javaee-security-spec/pages/Home

and the chapters, Arjan said, he'd like to help with, I am happy to help with Security Context in the spec.

The other items look like they may not be in scope for Java EE 8/JSR 375, at least based on KK's JavaOne presentation.

Are we (Will, probably helped by Alex and others in the EG) still in the position to submit an EDR now?

The detail page https://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=375 already has a Renewal Ballot 2 scheduled at the end of this month.

Maybe that happens automatically unless the PMO hears from a Spec Lead about an EDR first, or was it coordinated with the PMO?

Kind Regards,

Werner
