I know you'll get this sorted out somehow, but just in case you missed it,
the grizzly source browser shows that some poms in 1.x trunk are version
1.9.16-SNAPSHOT; they should be 1.9.17-SNAPSHOT.

This has the appearance like maven's release plugin was not used for last
release.
