As a followup to your answer, please keep in mind that "valueChange" can be translated into either "click" or "change" in the page, depending on the component. Why? because IE has a "special" way of interpreting the "change" event, where the change is only registered when focus is lost. While strictly following the spec, the behavior is badly broken, since the user will change a Menu value and then wonder why the event isn't being fired.
