They can pre-compile JSPs using the jasper compiler in GlassFish. Also
if they are using JDK 6 GlassFish will use the Compiler API that are
available
in the JDK for better performance. If they indeed can't pre-compile JSPs

Not sure what they mean by architecture artifacts here. Need more
details from them.

Yes it is possible to pre-compile JSPs in GlassFish. Kin-man can you
please check with the web synergy team to see what the issues are that they
are running into with pre-compiling JSPs.
