No. You can ignore the RANDR error (it just means the GUI toolkit is looking
for an X extension that the X server does not have. Should be harmless in
this case).

Not quite. They are both meta packages -- that means they consist only of
dependencies on other packages. The "Full Platform" package does what you
may think. Installing it installs all the full profile packages. The "Full
Platform Incorporation" is a bit more esoteric. It makes sure the versions
of the packages are in alignment. Installing it will make sure any packages
that are already installed are updated to the correct version.

To upgrade from 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 you should be able to click
on "Available Updates" in the left tree and install all
of the presented updates.

You can also do this from the CLI by running (while inside the GlassFish
install image) bin/pkg image-update
