Can you ping the resource from the admin console? There was an open
issue during 3.1 (
http://java.net/jira/browse/GLASSFISH-15430) but it's
marked as a duplicate of another bug that was fixed before 3.1 final. If
the same app can be deployed to the GF instance, but fails in embedded
mode, please file a bug and attach a test case to reproduce.
