Dear GlassFish Community Developers

On the heels of the recent Web Event where an update on GlassFish
project's roadmap was shared - read blog entry here
<http://blogs.oracle.com/theaquarium/tags/4.0> - here's an update for
our community members.

Thanks to some great contributions over these past couple months, the
GlassFish 4.0 code base (trunk) is now close to an initial milestone in
our journey to bring Java EE 7 PaaS/Cloud theme into being.

We still have a crucial phase to go through for this initial milestone
and that is *testing the system* as it comes together as a demo PaaS
system, and fixing important issues that we see in the process - so
here's a broad guideline/plan until we get to JavaOne / Oracle Open
World week of October 2

*Promoted Builds
*GlassFish 4.0 Build b02 was been promoted on Monday 09/19 and has
almost everything needed to begin testing with a few known issues.

Over last couple days, we have seen many fixes go in that have enabled
us to progress further.

**The next promoted build will come in on Monday 9/26 AM pacific time,
so any check ins for that build has to come in before 11:59 pm PT Sunday
(09/25)

Each check in, with immediate effect, has to have approval, so please
send me or Rajiv Mordani an email for approving your check in requests.
This is to get a stable demoable build by next week.

Needless to say, this is an exciting time for GlassFish community as we
embark on the Cloud / "Platform as a Service" (PaaS) themed Java EE
technology evolution.
Please stay tuned for more on the ensuing milestone plans et al coming soon.

Thanks

Shreedhar Ganapathy
