Hi Tim,
The issue was due to the project being created by an earlier version of
Netbeans, possibly 6.9.1 which was not GF3.1 compliant officially according
to you. By re-creating the whole project in Netbeans 7.0 solved it, even
though I had to go through a little bit of hassle to create the application
client separately since it no longer provide the option to include it when
creating the EAR.
The build version of GF 3.1 that came with Netbeans 7.0 is 43 with the
following description in server log:
#|2011-05-05T03:01:32.993-0430|FINE|glassfish3.1|org.eclipse.persistence.session.
In short, it is not necessary to provide the application and the issue
appears to be resolved with limited testing so far.
Thanks for your help,
Crystal
