I don't know about v.3 versus v.2 versus Tomcat, but I can certantly attest
that Glassfish 3 is WAY more memory hungry than JBoss 4.2. Same applications
deployed on both (3 resonably sized EARs) consume under 300M on JBoss and
over 1GB on Glassfish. It also takes longer to start up. What on Earth is
going on??
