First of all, thanks for the quick response.
I have downloaded the latest version of lbplugin archive (aslb-9.1.1-b20.jar)
from:
http://download.java.net/javaee5/external/Linux/aslb/jars/
As far as the GlassFish version is concerned, I'm using: Sun GlassFish
Enterprise Server v2.1.1. Not quite sure how to check the build number -
asadmin version does not provide such information.
When it comes to iPlanet version, it's: Oracle iPlanet Web Server 7.0.9

I have tripple checked the contents of magnus.conf and obj.conf files for
mistakes, so I'm more than sure they are correct. Also the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
variable was correctly updated in the startserv script (ldd -r
<WS_INSTALL_ROOT>/plugins/lbplugin/bin/libpassthrough.so does not show any
unresolved dependencies once the LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable is exported).
Error log related to my problem is shown below:
