I have done more research on my problem and found that running the shoal tests (https://shoal.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentView?documentID=43252&noNav=true) I have intermittent problems with multicast mode on my virtual servers. My Hosts are VMWare 4.0 so I have to get the network admin and the VMWare admin involved to help determine where exactly it is failing.
